Q. What do I wear during the tan?
A. I tell my clients to wear whatever they feel comfortable with. Some people wear a bathing suit or go topless. I also offer disposable undergarments at no extra charge.
Q. Is sunless tanning safe?
A. Yes, it is. The FDA approved Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a sugar cane derivative that results in the tan, for safety in 1973. When applied to the skin, DHA penetrates only the top layer of skin — it does not absorb into the body or bloodstream.
Q. Is sunless tanning safe for pregnant women?
A. No testing has been performed on pregnant women. If you are pregnant, consult with your doctor and provide a written permission form prior to application.
Q. How long will my spray tan last?
A. Everyone has different skin, if you prepare properly, your tan could last up to 10 days. Most start to fade after one week.
Q. Will my tan turn out dark brown?
A. Everybody’s skin develops its own individual color. Some people go very brown, others get just a glow. For those people, with repeated sessions, the skin tends to get used to solution, and starts to develop more color. (You only need a few sessions to achieve this).
Q. When will I notice results?
A. Immediately! You will notice results the same day, because our products contain a bronzer. The second day is when you will notice a deeper/darker tan.
Q. Can I exercise or go to the gym following my spray tan?
A. We recommend that you wait at least 6 hours, and that you keep perspiration and sweating to a minimum the first day.
Q. Will the bronzer solution rub off onto my clothes or sheets?
A. There is a possibility of staining your clothes or sheets. This would be most likely due to the customer changing too quickly after the application. We make sure that the body is completely dried before changing into your clothes. The solution is water-soluble and should come out in the wash.
Q. Will the solution discolor my hair?
A. We provide hair caps to all of our customers to protect their hair. If your hair is long you should pull it back and secure it into a ponytail. It is not necessary to wear a hair cap.
Q. Should I shave before my spray tan application?
A. You want to make sure that you shave at least 8 hours before your session. This will provide extra exfoliation. Shaving immediately after your tan will cause fading.
